Summer is my favorite season, for many reasons. One is the many cookouts and family gatherings that we have.
Speaking of gatherings, I have a great recipe for a delicious cobbler that you are definitely going to want to take along on your next family get-together.
This homemade strawberry cobbler is amazing, and it’s even better if you top it off with some homemade vanilla bean ice cream!
Do You Eat Strawberry Cobbler Cold Or Warm
Honestly, I’ve tried this one both ways and it’s delicious either way. My favorite way to eat cobbler is warm with homemade ice cream on top, but you could serve this one cold, as well if that’s your preference and even add a little whipped topping to it.
Can You Freeze Strawberry Cobbler?
You can actually freeze this one before you bake it or after. Remember to cover it really well to guard against freezer burn.
If you need to make it ahead of time and you don’t want to have to bake it later, just go ahead and bake it now. Let it cool completely, cover and then freeze.
You can sit it out on the counter to thaw when you need it or stick it in the oven to warm it up.
Do You Use Fresh Or Frozen Strawberries?
Fresh is always better, don’t you think? But, if you have frozen strawberries and you want to use those, I don’t think it will alter the recipe any.
Just let them thaw out completely before you make the cobbler and make sure that you drain them well.
Can You Make This With Other Berries?
Of course! If you want to try blueberries or blackberries, that should work just fine. I have a great blueberry pie recipe that you should also try if you love blueberries.
You could also use peaches to make a delicious peach cobbler, or try this peach cobbler recipe. Just make sure that you are substituting equal amounts of whatever berries you are substituting.
The recipe calls for 14 ounces of strawberries. 14 ounces is about one and three-quarters of a cup, so make sure that you use the right amount of berries if you do substitute them.
