Do you drink coffee? I personally am known as the coffee queen. I just can’t function without my morning brew and I’ve been known to enjoy a cup or two on cool evenings, as well.
If you love coffee too…or tea, or hot chocolate…I have a great little tutorial for you. I’m going to show you how easy it is to make your own marbled coffee cups…with nail polish!
How To Marble A Mug With Nail Polish
So, I’ve seen a few tutorials on marbling and some of them use acrylic paints. This one however, is right up my alley; partly because it’s a coffee cup and partly because it uses fingernail polish to make the colors.
I have a slew of nail polish colors so I already had everything that I needed to do this craft.
What You Need To Marble A Cup
So, aside from the nail polish, you need a plain white mug, which you can get at any Dollar Store. I picked mine up at my local Dollar General and it was only a dollar.
You also need something rather large to dip the cup, so a larger glass bowl, if you have one, will work fine.
And, you can do this with any color of polish that you want, so play with the technique a while and create all sorts of beautiful color combinations.
What You Can Do With A DIY Marbled Coffee Cup
You can create your own set of beautiful mugs for yourself, or make a set to give out as gifts.
This is honestly one of the easiest crafts you will ever do, so it’s simple to make a set of four cups to give as gifts for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays or any special occasion.
It only takes a few minutes per cup, so you could have an entire set finished in just an hour or so. You could make a set of cups to go in a coffee themed gift basket!
