My youngest child is right at that age where sensory play is really important. But my older kids actually still love this stuff too, and often will take part in our activities. Lately, all of them have been really fixated on goo and slime of all kinds.
So we have been trying a lot of different slime recipes. This is one of our favorites, and earlier this year, we had a really fun time blowing bubbles in slime.
Now I have learned how to make a new kind of slime—rainbow slime! This awesome video was posted on WhatsUpMoms, one of my very favorite YouTube channels.

You’ll need:

- Liquid starch: ¼ cup per color
- Elmer’s glue: 2 ounces per color
- Food coloring
Directions for each color:
1. Pour 2 ounces of Elmer’s glue into a container.
2. Add food coloring as desired.
3. Mix the glue and food coloring.
4. Add ¼ cup liquid starch. Do not add it all at once. Stir in a little at a time, and start kneading with your hands when it becomes easier.
Make as many of these batches of different colors as you want. Then combine them together. You can join each loosely to the next, or you can knead them together to see how they integrate. That is part of the fun—let your kids experiment. This is guaranteed to keep them busy for a long time!
