When we were shopping for our home, the backyard, garden, and patio were some of the biggest selling points. My husband and I love summer barbecues. We’ve spent years making our outdoor space as beautiful as possible for our parties. We’ve even built our own portable barbecue and done extensive work to beautify the patio (check out 30 amazing ideas here).
Our parties are always a blast, but you know what? It is also an uphill battle to keep the place settings organized, the dishware safe (lots of kids running around), and the presentation elegant. Usually, I fall pretty short of what I want to accomplish. My neighbors are all really cool about it all, but it doesn’t stop me from worrying that they’re less than impressed! The worst part, of course, is when we go over to one of their parties and everything is just perfect. All that does is raise the bar even higher!
