Liquid hand soap is great, but it can be very expensive if you are used to buying your soap in bar form. You can make your own liquid soap, however, and get the best of both worlds. You just have to follow this tutorial, which will show you how to turn a single bar of Castile soap into an entire gallon of liquid hand soap. Incidentally, you can use other brands of soap if you want.

You just have to grate the bar of soap and then follow the directions for mixing and “cooking” it until it’s done. Then you will have an entire gallon of liquid soap, so you can refill those store-bought soap containers yourself and with a liquid that is much, much less expensive.

If you prefer liquid soap, this is a great way to get a lot of it without spending a lot of your hard-earned money, and you get to know exactly what ingredients are going into that soap. On the flipside, though, you can actually make your own shampoo bars and extend the frugal living to your beautiful locks.

Soaps and bath products make for excellent gifts – next time you’re stuck in a jam, consider packaging some of this liquid soap, or even making your own relaxing bath salts.

DIY Liquid Castille Soap

This homemade DIY Soap project will turn your favorite soap bar into a liquid with just a few easy steps. In our example, we will be using an organic Castile Soap with Lavender Extracts. The organic lavender extracts provide natural exfoliation and medicinal value compared to conventional micro-beads, which are typically made from small plastic balls (sized 4-5mm in diameter). This quick and exciting DIY project will provide a richer and healthier liquid soap while allowing you the flexibility to choose from your favorite scents and pre-made formulas. In this project, you will also avoid the hassle of formulating and measuring over 7 ingredients (you only need the bar and water). Let’s get started!
