Classic Chicken Salad Recipe Is The Perfect Party Dish

If you are planning a party or you just want something quick, easy and delicious for lunch, you have got to try this classic chicken salad recipe. I love a good chicken salad and this one is one of the easiest that I have ever made. I made this for a ladies party one afternoon and they adored it.

You just need one chicken breast to make enough for four people and the recipe can easily be altered to make more if you need it. Serve this with crackers, on rolls or however you want. They are going to love it however you serve it up.

Classic Chicken Salad Recipe Is The Perfect Party DishI love how easy this one is to get ready. You just need 10 minutes of prep time and then about an hour to cook the chicken. With apples, Dijon mustard and spices, this is definitely the most unique chicken salad you have ever tried. It’s a great appetizer served with crackers or tortilla chips or you could serve it as a main dish for brunch or lunch. I

t’s a very versatile recipe and you can make it up hours before you need it and just let it chill in the fridge for a while. If you are making it for a party, I strongly recommend that you serve it with these zucchini tortillas. I did and it was a huge hit.

Chicken salad is such a classic dish. Everyone loves a good chicken salad. Even my picky eaters at home will eat a chicken salad sandwich so this recipe definitely made my print list. I love printing off good recipes and keeping them on my fridge.

This one has definitely earned a spot and it will earn a spot on yours too. It’s so easy that you just have to try it. I promise everyone will love it. And, it’s a great one to serve at your ladies brunches, along with these delectable chocolate chip cookies!

The Best Classic Chicken Salad Recipe

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 50 minutes

Total time: 1 hour

Yield: 4 servings

Serving size: 240 g (8.5 oz)

Ingredients:

•1 whole chicken breast•4-6 springs of thyme
•1 lemon, sliced
•½ cup of mayonnaise
•1 tsp. of Dijon mustard
•1 large garlic clove, minced
•1 tsp. of lemon juice
•½ tsp. of lemon zest
•¼ cup of red onion, chopped
•½ cup of green apple, chopped
•2 tbsps. of parsley, chopped

Instructions

1.Season chicken breast with generous amount of salt and pepper. Put into zip-lock bag with lemon and thyme springs.
2.Put plastic bag into a pot of cold water just under zip-lock level, trying to squeeze out as much air as possible. Close zip-lock and place chicken on the stove.
3.Cook with kitchen thermometer at 65C/155F for about 40 minutes.
4.Remove chicken from the packet, let it cool down and cut into cubes.
5.Mix mayonnaise, Dijon, garlic, lemon juice and zest together.
6.Combine chicken, sauce, apples, parsley and chopped red onion. Season salad with salt and pepper to taste.
7.Serve as a side or in a sandwich.
