Have you ever stepped on a Lego in the middle of the night…barefoot? I have and I have to say, I was a little happy when my kids started outgrowing those little buggers. I mean, they really hurt! We recently started going through some things to downside our collection of junk and I found a few of those old Legos. After the initial shock of seeing those little harmless toys that can inflict so much pain on the soles of my feet, I started thinking about ways to turn those old toys into something fun for the house.

I found 17 totally cool DIY Lego crafts that you are going to love to make with your kids! If your little ones have outgrown their Legos, these DIY projects are going to be the perfect way to put those old toys to good use. I must say, I have a love hate relationship with Legos. I hate stepping on them but I absolutely love these Lego repurposing ideas. These crafts are so much fun to make and to use and you can let the little ones help you with many of them. They won’t mind giving up their toys if they get to help you with the repurpose. Many of these make wonderful gifts, too so the kids could do their own Mother’s or Father’s Day gifts or make nice little gifts for the grandparents. You only need a small handful of Legos to make this, along with a plain belt buckle and some craft foam. You could do so many different designs with this – make him his own super hero belt buckle or anything else that he wants.

Turn an ordinary lamp into a work of art when you add a lampshade that you make from Legos. This would be great for a teenager’s room or the family room. And, you can make the shade whatever size you need by just adding or subtracting Legos. This is such a fun way to repurpose Legos and get yourself an awesome new lampshade at the same time.
