How to Transform Your Store-Bought Furniture Into Charming Custom Designs

How to Transform Your Store-Bought Furniture Into Charming Custom Designs {Video}When I was younger, I would never have imagined that I was going to get into hardware projects. But here I am today, assembling my own pallet furniture and everything (check out a project I recently tackled here). But one area where I am still learning is finishing. I have put together so much rustic furniture and I’ve left it largely unfinished. So I don’t know a whole lot about painting or finishing (except this awesome cheap method to refinish wood).

I just watched an amazing video from WhatsUpMoms which features the total makeover of a store-bought set of drawers:

Video tutorial

This isn’t a tutorial per se, but it does give you a great overview of what you need to know how to do in order to customize furniture in terms of paint, handles, finishing, etc. I learned so much watching this, and I now feel a lot more confident about putting some finishing touches on my existing furniture projects.

I also now realize that when you buy something from the store, you can customize it to your heart’s content. This can save you a ton of money and give you exactly what you want for your home. I never thought of doing that before—buying something I sort of like and turning it into something I love with my own embellishments!

It’s a very creative and enjoyable video. Then again, you can’t really go wrong with WhatsUpMoms. It’s one of my favorite channels on YT. Be sure to subscribe and check out all of their videos!
