How to Upcycle an Old T-Shirt Into a Cute Peplum Top

June 6, 2016 By Vanessa Beaty 1 Comment

How to Upcycle an Old T-Shirt Into a Cute Peplum Top {Video}Lately I’ve been looking through my old clothes and wondering what to do with the stuff I hardly wear anymore. In particular, I have some baggy old T-shirts that just aren’t doing much for me anymore. They never fit all that well to begin with, and they’re just kind of boring. Plus, they don’t fit with my current style, which leans a little more toward the feminine. I just wish there were something more to them. It’d be nice if they hugged my figure a bit instead of just hanging on me.

Well, now I know exactly what to do! I’m always looking for creative things to do with old t-shirts, and now I’ve found a new one. This video teaches you how you can easily transform an old T-shirt into an adorable peplum top. I seriously can’t believe how simple this is. I would have thought this would be really hard!

Re sizing chart: here.

There are only a few steps involved; the most intensive part is just stitching the skirt part onto the shirt. This will take some time if you are doing it by hand, but it is still really easy. If you have a little patience, you will end up with a great result. Now that I know how to do this, I can add it to my list of T-shirt refashion projects. I can’t wait to give this a try. So many of my old t-shirts are oversized and will be perfect for making peplum tops!
