I just love apple pie; it is one of my all-time favorite desserts. I love to try variations on a classic, though, so over the years I have found other apple dessert recipes that I enjoy, like apple puffed pancakes and apple roses. Now I have found something else I can make quickly and easily at home—apple pie fries!

These aren’t just inspired by apple pie; they quite literally are strips of apple pie. But these were designed for crust lovers. There is only a thin layer of apple filling in between two crust layers. This is then baked in the oven and topped with cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg for some added spice and crunch. When you pull them out of the oven, they are perfectly cooked and have just the right texture.
Personally, I think this recipe is genius for a couple of reasons. First of all, I always thought that it was crazy you couldn’t just buy cooked pie crust at the store as some kind of standalone dessert item. Secondly, these are just super easy to make. I am often intimidated by baking projects, but this doesn’t require any special baking skills. It is just a really basic, simple recipe. The ingredients are all commonplace too, and odds are good that you already have almost everything you need in your kitchen. I just had to buy the crust and the apple filling.
Over the years I have discovered a lot of amazing apple dessert recipes, but this by far is my favorite! It is the fastest and easiest to make and the results are delicious!
