Here is How to Make Any Lipstick Color You Want … Out of Crayons!

If the title of this post made you blink, you’re not alone. When I first clicked on a video on YouTube titled “DIY: How to Make Lipsticks Using Crayons,” I was more curious than anything. It seemed like a pretty dubious idea, and I wasn’t taking it all that seriously, but then I changed my mind.

I literally was right about to order some makeup online. But I was on the fence about my purchase for a couple of reasons. First off, the lipstick I was going to buy was really expensive. Second, the ingredients list was horrific. Half the stuff they use in makeup is really questionable.

But crayons actually are quite innocuous. As the video points out, they are made of non-toxic pigments and paraffin wax. You know, I guess that makes sense. Little kids sometimes eat them after all. They need to be safe. So, compared to the weird ingredient lists of most store-bought lipsticks, these DIY crayon lipsticks are actually quite safe.

Plus … they are cheap! Lipstick has never been this affordable! And you can make any color you want by combining whatever crayon colors you want to use. I love this because it is so hard to find exactly the right shade of lipstick. And now I can customize my look to my heart’s content.
