Degreasers are a must in the kitchen, garage, and other areas of the home. If you love the cleaning power of degreaser but hate the chemicals or the cost, there is a DIY version. You will need a plastic spray bottle, and these can be bought for about $1 at your local Dollar Store.

Aside from the bottle, you just need to mix together 2 cups of water, 10 drops of your favorite essential oil, and ¼ cup of an oil-based soap. Murphy’s Oil Soap is a good choice.

Just combine the ingredients in the bottle, shake to mix, and then remember to shake before use. Spray the solution anywhere that you want to remove greasy messes and wipe clean with a damp cloth. This is great for removing things like scuff marks, crayon, and other heavy cleaning jobs, and it costs much less than buying degreaser in the store.
