Cheap and Effective Way to Fix Oxidized Kitchen Utensils

Most of us know that you should never put Kitchenaid aluminum blender utensils in the dishwasher. How do we know? Because we’ve done it and we’ve lived with the oxidation on those utensils. You know, that grey stuff that comes off on your hands when you pick those utensils up. Well, there is a great DIY method for removing that mess and leaving your blender utensils looking good as new.

You just need water and white vinegar. You need about 3 inches of water in the bottom of a large pot. Now put in about 3 cups of white vinegar. Bring the mixture to a boil and then add the utensils that need to be cleaned. A stock pot works great for this by the way. Stock pots are large enough to hold the utensils that you need to clean plus if they have oxidation as well, you can clean them at the same time.

You need to boil the utensils for about 10 minutes – longer if they are really bad. Once finished, just rinse them in clean, cold water and wipe clean.
