Effective DIY Methods for Getting Rid of Pesky Mosquitos

So, summer is great but with it comes those pesky mosquitos. If you want a quick and easy way to get rid of them, there are a few really effective DIY methods that you can try.

Standing water will always draw mosquitos so if you have birdbaths or other water around your home, it is best to change it a couple of times each week. Make sure that your gutters are draining well and try to avoid leaving things in the yard that will accumulate rain water.

You can also use garlic, which incidentally will help you with a number of insect issues. Garlic is a natural repellent for insects of all times. Just mix garlic juice with water (one part juice to five parts water) and spray this concoction around your home. You can also use this as a repellent on the skin and it lasts for up to six hours. Skin-So-Soft from Avon is another great bug repellent and will keep mosquitos as well as ticks and other insects from biting.
