Awesome DIY Dining Benches Made from Shelving Units

If you are looking for something a little different for your dining room table, this idea from IKEA Hackers is great. These are dining benches that are made from a Lack shelving unit that has been turned on its side with Capita legs and Iris chair pads added.

The units are very sturdy and will hold up to 180 pounds on each section so they are perfect for dining benches. This is such a unique DIY idea and it will take you just an hour or so to attach the legs and pads. What a great way to get a rather untraditional dining bench.

The cubby holes would be great for added storage, don’t you think?
