Decorating Hack: How to Use Toothpaste to Hang Your Pictures Straight

Decorating Hack: How to Use Toothpaste to Hang Your Pictures StraightIf you have a boring wall and you want to spruce it up, you probably hang a picture, right? The problem is, if you cannot hang the picture straight, the wall just ends up looking even worse. And trying to hang a picture straight is not easy, especially if you are doing it yourself and no one is there to help you. I always tried to eyeball it in the past, but I never could get it exactly right. And you only need to be wrong by a fraction of a millimeter for the whole picture to look lopsided.

But I have just discovered an amazing secret! You can use toothpaste of all things to help you hang your pictures:

How does it work? You just dab some toothpaste on the back of the frame where the nails are going to go. You push the frame against the wall as if you are going to hang it. You pull it away, and you’ll find that a little bit of the toothpaste has transferred to the wall (toothpaste is good to use since it is the same color as the wall, but is also easy to wipe away).

You can then pound the nails into exactly the right spots on the wall. Wipe away the toothpaste from the wall and the frame, and you are all set to hang your picture. It will be perfectly even and will look fantastic!
