12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make Yourself! Creative ideas for pennies!!

Mason jars have come a long way from merely storing food or preserves – they've become a crafting/decorating staple! Hopefully you’ve been storing your empties to reuse in a crafty way because here’s the perfect opportunity to create something really special for the holiday season.

Happy crafting!

How to Make a Wintry Frozen Candle Jar Decoration

How to Make a Wintry Frozen Candle Jar Decoration - 12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make Yourself

One of the most enchanting things about the holiday season to me are Christmas lights. I really like mood lighting in general, so for me, nighttime during the holidays is simply magical. Everything seems to be bathed in a warm glow.

Painted Jolly Snowmen

Painted Jolly Snowmen - 12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make YourselfThese are simply adorable and you can actually have so much fun with them. You don’t have to be an incredible artist – just print out a snowman image that you like and trace that onto your jar. From there you can use craft pens to draw in all the little details.

Snowcapped Pinecones

Snowcapped Pinecones - 12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make YourselfFor something really simple, clean and elegant, make yourself some of these candle holders with those jars that you’ve been collecting. Snow, candles and pinecones are such a classic match for Christmastime; as they say: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Crocheted Jar Cluster

Crocheted Jar Cluster - 12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make YourselfThese darling little jar sweaters are just too cute! They’d look great as a display on your mantelpiece with some tea lights shining through – especially the sewn lace sweater (it’s also the easiest one to make), or even just as a vase for some colorful flowers.

A Lovely Christmas Township

A Lovely Christmas Township - 12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make YourselfThis is one of those projects that makes me wonder how I didn’t think of it before. It’s actually so effortless to do – especially with the supplied templates, but don’t be afraid to create your own scene. Bear in mind that the fake snow is a temporary thing that will eventually come off, so if you want something more permanent that you can use again next year, consider flecking white paint with a toothbrush instead.

Snowman Snow Globe

Snowman Snow Globe - 12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make YourselfSnow globes have always made me so nostalgic for my childhood; I used to find them so fun and fascinating, but never thought that I’d be able to make my own! It’s a lot easier to make yourself than you’d think, and you can personalize the jolly snowman as you wish. Perfect for a kid’s room, gift, or mantelpiece display.

Hot Chocolate Recipe

Hot Chocolate Recipe - 12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make YourselfEveryone loves a nice warm mug of hot chocolate on a chilly day, and everyone loves Rudolph – unless they’re the Grinch. It makes sense then, to create a Rudolph jar of hot chocolate, right? The recipe is delicious (try to get the dark cocoa powder; it makes all the difference!), and the decoration and labels are as cute as they are easy to make.

Rustic Centerpiece

Rustic Centerpiece - 12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make YourselfIf you’re running around like a headless chicken sorting out the food and drinks for Christmas dinner, and on top of that, getting the house tidy and yourself looking pretty, a centerpiece may not always be high on your list of things to make. This one is quick and easy to put together, yet still looks well thought-out and perfectly planned.

Personalized Snow Globe

Personalized Snow Globe - 12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make YourselfA snow globe doesn’t necessarily have to feature a snowman; with a jar fake snow and some water, you can pick up any tree, figurine, ornament or pretty item to display inside. It doesn’t even have to be Christmas-themed because the snow globe itself already brings the holiday cheer.

Cluster Light

Cluster Light - 12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make YourselfYou need quite a few jars for this one, so you may need to ask friends or neighbors for some handouts; don’t worry if they’re different sizes, it’ll just add to the rustic charm. It’s a beautiful addition to the outside porch, but it’ll also look absolutely stunning as an indoor chandelier.

Illuminated Snow Scene

Illuminated Snow Scene - 12 Magnificent Mason Jar Christmas Decorations You Can Make YourselfThis happy little snowy scene is really easy to make; you can include any Christmassy ornament, but I’m totally in love with the happy little penguin and the way the light shines down on him. Go ahead and make a whole collection to set atop your mantelpiece.
