She Crocheted Her Stunning Dress Herself for Just $30... Find Out How

While trawling the internet, searching for new fabulous ideas, we came across Redditor Alkikat, boasting that she crocheted her own lace wedding dress under $30.

Yes, ladies, what we have spent, or are planning to spend thousands on, this woman made for less than a week’s worth of groceries. Oh, and did we mention that this machine-washable, re-wearable dress (thanks to the interchangeable lining) is absolutely gorgeous?

Excuse me while I just pick up my jaw that seems to be dragging on the floor.

Her cost includes all materials used. Everything. She used two large skeins of Aunt Lydia's size 10 cotton thread; lucky girl got them on sale for about $14 for the two.

The satin fabric for the lining was also on sale. And in terms of time spent, well, that hardly cost her anything since she dedicated her daily work bus commute to making this unique masterpiece – a full five months of crocheting.

Further proof of this amazing skill is that she didn’t work from a pattern; she sort of “winged it” (her own words), mainly using a pineapple stitch/motif.

But since being asked a thousand times over for a pattern, she has promised to write one up to post; as soon as she does, dear crocheters, we’ll make sure you get your hand on it.
