Save Money and Cut Fat with This DIY Cooking Spray Recipe

Cooking spray is an absolute must in most kitchens, particularly if you are looking to cut fat and calories when you cook. Of course, cooking spray can also be a little expensive if you use it a lot and nothing is worse than running out right in the middle of a baking project.

Enter DIY – you can make your own cooking spray and it takes very little time. Aside from the obvious cost benefits of DIY cooking sprays, there are certain chemicals in store-bought sprays that just don’t seem totally healthy. Making your own products is always a better idea and we have a great recipe for you to make your own cooking spray that does not contain harmful ingredients.

The recipe is easy – you just mix 5 parts of water with 1 part oil and you can use whatever oil you want. If you are looking to cut fat, use olive oil but you can also use canola, vegetable or any other oils that you choose. That’s it – just mix these together in a spray bottle and be sure that you shake the bottle to mix well before use.
