If you’re anything like me, you like to really pull out all the stops during Christmas time: decorating the house, tree, and dining table really lifts the spirits. But what we really look forward to is getting our outfit ready, from the shoes to the dress to the hair, and… the makeup!

If you’re looking for some inspiration, have a look through our collection of holiday makeup tutorials ranging from the softly understated to the delightfully dramatic.
Jump to:
1. Frosty Sparkle

We love glitter, seriously, and the holiday season offers the perfect opportunity to express that love. This icy, sparkly eye shadow look is the perfect touch for a white Christmas.
2. Glitter Cat-Eye

If you still want some sparkle but don’t want it to be quite as heavy as the previous style, opt for this single glitter stripe right above a cat-eye line. It’s a lot more subtle, yet noticeable enough to actually make an impact.
3. Ombre Winged Liner & Red Lips

Blend festive flair into your look with an ombre winged liner—fade from deep black to shimmering cranberry for a bold yet elegant eye. Pair it with a classic red lip to tie the whole holiday glam together.
4. Snowflake Eyes

Use a silver liquid eyeliner with a very fine brush to add these adorable snowflakes to your beautiful smoky eye.
5. Green Eyes

A simple green eye shadow can make an incredible impression, but instead of simply sweeping one tone across your entire lid, follow this tutorial for a more varied look with some beautiful depth of color.
6. Merry Mistletoe

Channel the magic of mistletoe with this bold green and black smoky eye. A soft shimmer of mossy green across the lid fades into deep black at the outer corner for a dramatic effect, while a pop of icy mint in the inner corner adds brightness.
7. Subtle Shimmer

If you aren’t one for heavy makeup but still want to do a little something special for your Christmas party or dinner, then this shimmery look is the perfect option. The final look is rather demure and natural, but it gives you the pop you want.
8. Orange is the New Black

You don’t necessarily have to stick with Christmas colors; this illuminating orange-gold makes a bold statement without being too obvious at the same time.
9. Christmas Colors

There’s nothing more Christmassy than red, green, and gold, so why not apply that to your eyes for some truly festive eye shadow? We love how this look incorporates all the colors without actually looking too dramatic or overdone at the end.
10. Neutral Ombre Lips

If you’re going to vamp it up with the eyes, then you’ll need a more neutral tone on the lips. Alternatively, if you want to put the emphasis on the lips instead of the eyes, use the same ombre technique but use a brighter, bolder color.

These ladies are fantastic! I really like that ombre look, I'm going to have to give it a try.
