I think it’s safe to say that practically everyone enjoys watermelons in the summertime; they’re just so sweet and refreshing, and the high water content (about 92%) means that it really quenches your thirst. If you want a quick and easy way to make watermelon smoothies (well, technically, it’ll be juice since there is no added yogurt or milk), all you really need is the help of a trusty power drill, and you’ll be refreshing everyone within a couple of minutes.

What you need:
- A nice big watermelon
- Power drill
- Metal hanger
- Plastic cup
- Knife and scissors
So the method here is to drill a hole through the skin, bend the hanger, and attach it to the drill like some sort of makeshift industrial power whisk. It’s absolute genius! Then you put your whisk end into the hole and let it go for about half a minute so that you pulverize that fleshy goodness and turn it into juice. That’s it! A cut-up plastic cup is fashioned into a pourer so that it’s really easy to pour the juice out straight from the hard shell.
This definitely isn’t the only delicious summer drink, but it certainly is the easiest, quickest and most fun to make. Feel free to make an adult version by simply pouring in some vodka, rum or sparkling wine – instant watermelon cocktail!
