You can paint an American flag on any piece of wood that you have on hand and make this amazing wooden flag décor. The stars are done with stickers, so they are super easy and overall, this entire wooden décor shouldn’t take you longer than an hour to complete, not counting drying time for the paint, that is. It’s super easy and the perfect July 4th décor for indoors or out.
2. Rustic Distressed Wooden Tags
Cut some wood into the shapes of these adorable wooden tags and then decorate them in true rustic style with stars and strips or any other patriotic design that you want. I really love the 3D effect from the wooden letters – which you can cut out yourself or buy them already done. 5. Large Wooden Patriotic Porch Sign
This large patriotic porch sign is super easy to make. You just need a relatively tall board and some paint. Choose whatever design or message you want. I love this one that I found on Etsy. It says, “God Bless America” and it has a really rustic look to it. It’s just $60 if you prefer to buy instead of DIY.
6. Upcycled Painted Shutter Décor
If you happen to have redone your shutters recently, you can use them to create this stunning Fourth of July décor. You just have to paint it! Choose your design – flag, stars and stripes, whatever you want – and then paint that shutter to make it the most patriotic thing on your porch. You could also hang this indoors if you wanted. Instead of a traditional wreath on your front door this Fourth of July, consider this lovely wooden monogram wreath instead. It’s super easy to make and it is so unique. You just need the letter of your last name, that you can cut from wood or even buy in a hobby shop depending on the size that you want. 9. Gorgeous Wooden Old Glory Windchime
You are going to want to hang this Old Glory windchime on your porch all year long, but it is especially perfect for the Fourth of July. How gorgeous would this rustic wooden star candleholder be on your Fourth of July patio table this year? This one is so easy to make and you can use repurposed or reclaimed wood if you have any on hand. 16. DIY Wooden Star Hanging Art
This wooden star is made of wood and framed and it is the perfect rustic Fourth of July décor for your home or porch. This is really simple to make and even simpler to decorate. You can make this one from reclaimed wood if you have any on hand. Use those old picture frames or other pieces that you would just otherwise throw out. Or you could use a small pallet, too if you have one.

20. Upcycled Log Candleholder
Here is the perfect DIY wooden Fourth of July decoration – it’s an upcycled log turned into a lovely red, white and blue flag designed candleholder. You surely have an old log outside in the yard that you can use. Once you have the log, you just drill a few holes, paint and then add your votive candles. This one is super easy and absolutely gorgeous when it’s finished. And since you’re upcycling an old log, this one is also super cheap to make. Upcycled log projects are much like DIY décor with sticks and twigs – they’re cheap and easy to make and give you such a rustic look.
